I wrote this Nocturne for my best friend, Jamie, while he was in the hospital with acute myeloid leukemia from January-April, 2013. Jamie was not only a brilliant philosopher, he was also a devoted, loving friend who was hilariously funny and dashingly handsome. He always listened intently to my music, and he was able to hear this piece just before he passed away on April 4th, 2013.
